The new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR): challenges, practical solutions and competitive advantage for business.
From 12 August 2026 the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) applies, changing the rules of the packaging market across the European Union. The new requirements affect the entire packaging value chain – from manufacturers and suppliers to importers, retailers and the waste-management sector.
For businesses, this means not only new obligations, but also the need to reassess packaging design, materials, recyclability, labelling, data and traceability. “Pack Cycle Forum” is where PPWR requirements are translated into practical solutions. Businesses, regulators, Baltic and international experts will meet here to answer not only “what has changed?”, but most importantly “how should businesses move forward and what is the future of packaging?”
The forum aims to give companies clarity, practical insights and solutions that will help them adapt to the changing packaging market.
Manufacturers, importers, retailers, waste managers and packaging developers.

UAB KIKA GroupInternational pet food and pet care product manufacturerKIKA GROUP is an international manufacturer of pet food and pet care products, exporting to more than 60 countries worldwide. Operating globally, the company faces different market requirements and challenges every day, from food safety, logistics and product protection to sustainability targets and evolving regulation. Packaging is therefore a strategically important part of the product: it must not only ensure quality and a safe journey to the consumer, but also meet the expectations of different markets, logistics chains and increasingly demanding sustainability standards. International experience allows KIKA GROUP to see how packaging solutions evolve across countries and what compromises a global manufacturer must find between functionality, safety, sustainability and business efficiency.
BIOVELA GroupFood manufacturing, product development and packagingBIOVELA Group is one of the largest meat-processing groups in the Baltic States, managing the full product journey from manufacturing and product development through to market launch. In the food-manufacturing sector, packaging is an integral part of the product: it must ensure food safety and quality, meet technological and labelling requirements, and at the same time adapt to changing regulation and sustainability goals. For this reason, when implementing PPWR requirements, BIOVELA Group treats packaging as an interdisciplinary task involving product development, technology, production, quality, regulatory requirements and other business functions.
Soverio is a digital technology company (soverio.id) specialising in digital identities and identifiers. It provides a Digital Product Passport solution (pasai.eu) designed to meet the requirements of the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The company also provides related consulting services.
UAB RilemijaAccounting, GPAIS and EPRPPWR changes not only the requirements for packaging – it is becoming increasingly important for companies to know what packaging they use, what data they have about it and where that data comes from. The practical workshop will cover 7 questions that will help a company assess its packaging accounting, GPAIS data, collection of information from suppliers and internal responsibilities in the context of PPWR changes. The aim is to help the company understand what it already has and what is worth starting to organise now.
VšĮ Pakuotė RatuMore than 20 years of packaging production and recycling experienceThe experts at VšĮ “Pakuotė Ratu” have worked in packaging production and recycling for more than 20 years, so they know exactly what suppliers, customers, retail chains and inspectors will ask about your packaging. To help companies navigate PPAR (PPWR) requirements, “Pakuotė Ratu” created a practical questionnaire that acts as a roadmap and immediately shows where you are already compliant and what is still missing. By answering the questions, companies also carry out a compliance assessment that becomes the basis for an EU declaration of conformity.
